As I read today’s gospel one thing grabbed my attention: “We are not called to be served, we are called to serve others.” What if everyone did this, can you just imagine how great of a world we would live in?

Jesus doesn’t call us to lead so we can boast of our successes, because they are not ours. When we allow humility to show us we are no better than anyone else, when we love and let our faith show kindness, servitude, dignity, and respect towards others then we are living for God.

The Devil continues to show us the peaks, the height of sin; when we allow this view and we don’t make time to serve one. Jesus wants us at our lowest. He wants us humble, capable of serving the least of his people. We live in a often self loathsome world. Just look around. Dwindling attendance at church, total chaos on social media, a divided country. We have shut Jesus out of our lives. We think the world and what everyone has matters. The Devil wants us to continue to walk that right rope; the rope that tells us we are no good, the rope that continues to tempt us, that continues to allow us to judge others. We don’t need to walk a tight rope – Jesus has opened a wide and beautiful path for us; we just have to be humble enough to find this path. We are not called to be served, but to serve others! Be blessed!!
